I uh... I had a weird "The 90s were better" phase for like- 3 years starting in 2nd grade (I was born in 2004). When I went to Universal Citywalk (just citywalk. we did not actually visit the park) on a trip to Florida, when we visited the ruins of Nickelodeon Studios, I refused to smile in front of the Blue Man Group sign... I regret that. That's something about me...
I've been gettin' into that new band After lately! Yeah, that's another thing. They remind me of home... hmm...
Maybe that's what ya gotta know. I just want this page to feel a little bit like how I felt back home. I hope you can feel that feeling too while you're around here. Or at least that it might remind you of nice things. Nice things are nice.
I know it's not good to drown yourself in nostalgia too much. We have to live in the present at some point. And the only way forward is through. It's sorta what I want my work to be. A bittersweet look at the past, but with the acknowledgement that nothing lasts forever. Y'know, the transience of things. Mono no Aware as a friend put it. And then take those good things from the past and forge something brand new out of it.
Anywho, going back to drowning myself in nostalgia, I hope, while we're here, we can all feel like that little boy in that one general electric commercial with Donovan's "Catch the Wind" in it. You know the one. - Radioguy
